25 Years in Business – Active Staff Ltd
As we look back over the past 25 years – we have so many fond memories and stories to recall!
Back in July 1999, Graham White, following a successful career in Recruitment, started Active Staff from his spare bedroom. Within 18 months, he had his first business premises and the company started to grow. New relationships were forged, lives were changed and the local companies and job seekers in the community benefited from a local service provider.
Over the early years, the team grew, people came and went onto new careers but still the desire to always be the best remained. Our brand was strong, making us one of 8 agencies out of 15 to come through the economic downturn in 2008.
In 2011, Lisa Armstrong returned to Active Staff, having worked for us before and it was her goal to grow further and open more offices. By 2023 we had successfully come through a worldwide pandemic and had 3 offices. We were then presented with many other issues – the world had changed, almost overnight. So, as an innovative business, we had to change too! Changes following Covid meant we no longer needed to be in one place to service the local community – but we could still give the same exemplary service levels from wherever we were! We are modern in our thinking; we’ve had to be! Streamlining our processes, ensuring the brand remained strong in this ever-changing world and our team requested flexibility, so we gave it to them.
Here we are now in July 2024 – where have the past 25 years gone? We are still supporting people and businesses but now not just local, also nationally. We still have some of the original clients still working with us, after all this time! We of course have had many new companies use our services, again, returning time after time. We have a team of dedicated and loyal people who are brand ambassadors who always want to offer service excellence.
In 2024, we have an expert in many sectors and plan to grow further in the following years. We pride ourselves on selecting the most suitable and skilled candidates, who also fit the culture of your company! We put everyone first – whether it be a candidate or a client, that’s where it all starts.

As we celebrate 25 years in business, we would like to thank everyone who has played a part in this journey – without you all, none of this would have been possible. The moral of our story is, keep going, don’t give up when times are hard, find the ways to be successful but most of all, be kind to you as running a business isn’t always easy.
