Active Staff’s Sweet fundraising for Help For Heroes
Active Staff along with mascot, “Hero the Bear” have been giving cakes to Andover locals and businesses whilst fundraising for Help For Heroes.
On Thursday the 23rd and Friday the 24th of April, Andover residents and businesses may have spotted a bear roaming Andover town centre. However, Andover need not worry as this was not your average bear but in fact “Hero the Bear”, a dashing teddy with a bandaged arm and naval uniform, who along with Andover’s leading independent employment agency, Active Staff, was fundraising for Help For Heroes.
For the second year running, as part of Help For Heroes wider fundraising campaign, “Bake for Heroes” (which started on the 18th of April and runs until the 4th of May 2015), Active Staff visited Andover Market to give cakes to Andover residents in return for a suggested donation. Active Staff also popped into local Andover businesses to offer their delicious selection of cakes and pastries whilst fundraising for the charity.
As Active Staff’s chosen charity, the employment agency frequently supports Help For Heroes and this was their most recent fundraising effort in aid of the UK military charity which aids those wounded at war and their families.
Commenting on their fundraising efforts, Lisa Armstrong, Director of Active Staff has said:
“Help for Heroes is such an important charity, the work they do to support our wounded servicemen and their families cannot be underestimated. That’s why as a business we try to support Help for Heroes as often as we can. I’d like to thank all the companies who supplied the cakes for the cause and all those who gave money towards a cake or simply made a donation.”
We would like to extend special thanks to the following companies based inAndover, who were kind enough to donate to Active Staff : Waitrose, Copper Kettle, Britax, Abel and Cole, The Pie Shop, Greggs, Costa, Boswells, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Travelling Cupcake and Lee Filters.
