The role of the Test Technician:

• Conduct functional testing and programming of new and existing electronic products.
• Build electronic assemblies from work instructions and technical drawings.
• Set up and strip down ATE test racks for various board types.
• Measure and analyse yield data to support quality improvement.
• Troubleshoot and identify failure modes, providing feedback to production and engineering teams.
• Investigate and support customer returns and non-conformance issues.
• Perform routine maintenance of test equipment and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Assist in training new team members and uphold best practices.
• Always work to high standards of quality and health & safety.

The person for the Test Technician:

• GCSEs or equivalent qualification.
• Prior experience in product testing and fault finding, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with standard test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes).
• Computer literate and confident using test software.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Comfortable using fine tools and working under microscopes.

Desirable:

• Experience testing PCBs or RF electronics.
• Familiarity with spectrum/network analysers.
• An electronics qualification or similar.
• Good hand-soldering skills.
