The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Producing 3D models and drawings for both new and existing products using Autodesk Inventor (preferred)
• Creating pre-sales drawings to accompany customer quotations
• Reviewing engineering drawings, prototypes, and specifications to identify risks or issues
• Collaborating with production teams to ensure designs are cost-effective and meet all technical requirements
• Leading the change request process for continuous improvement
• Conducting data analysis to support product and process development
• Researching component system solutions for customers and suppliers
• Managing project timelines and deliverables
• Working to ISO, H&S, and quality standards
• Contributing to design best practices including PDR, DDR, and DFMEA
• Supporting company values and undertaking ad hoc duties as required

The person for the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar mechanical design role
• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC or apprenticeship)
• Strong experience with 3D CAD software – Autodesk Inventor highly desirable
• Understanding of quality and engineering best practices
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Confident working independently and communicating across departments
• Familiarity with MRP systems is an advantage
• Committed to ongoing professional development

7.30am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am – 3pm Friday
