Role Overview
As a CNC Turner, you will be part of a well-established team of professionals, producing a diverse range of complex components using the latest CNC Machine Tools. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring machines operate with minimal downtime and maximum efficiency, delivering high-precision components that meet exacting specifications.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 4:00PM, Fridays 7:30AM to 1:00PM
Pay Rate
DOE – very competitive (£18.00 - £25.00)
Main Duties:
- Verifying new jobs
- Effective material control
- Programming and editing programs
- Defining machine datums
- Carrying out first off inspection checks
- Working with QC department to ensure highest quality of product
- Material control and identification
- Plan and work efficiently with support of Team Leaders
Skills and Expertise requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of Offline Programming, Setting and Operating CNC Lathes
- Experience with FANUC controls and HyperMILL programming
- Understanding and interpreting of Engineering Drawings
- Timekeeping, precision and positive attitude
- Experience in working with materials like Inconel, Titanium and Stainless steel to tight tolerances
- Background working with aerospace, motorsport or similar high precision industry
- Experience working on DMG Mori machines desirable
Educational qualifications such as a Level 3 B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering, NVQ Level 3, or being apprentice-trained are preferred but not mandatory.
