Job Description:
Active Staff are proud to be representing a growing Manufacturing company that the people are the heart of. They are looking for a Quality Technician to be based in Farnham.
As a Quality Technician, you’ll provide hands on quality and technical support on the factory floor within production. This will be to ensure products, processes, documentation and hygiene meet the food safety and customers standards.

Responsibilities of the Quality Technician:
- Carry out in-process, line, and hygiene checks and quality inspections against agreed standards
- Support batch start-up, changeovers, and product release
- Review production and quality records for accuracy and compliance, escalating issues promptly
- Monitor key quality attributes and process controls across production
- Investigate deviations, out-of-spec results, defects, complaints, and non-conformances, gathering evidence from records and floor observations
- Contribute to root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions
- Support trials, process improvements, and factory validation or verification activities
- Maintain accurate records in line with GMP, food safety, and data integrity requirements
- Follow and contribute to SOPs, work instructions, and quality documents
- Support internal and external audits, hygiene inspections, and traceability exercises
- Work across Production, QC, Technical, Planning, Engineering, and Supply Chain to keep operations running smoothly
Experience of the Fermentation Production Operative:
- Experience in a factory-based quality, technical, or production support role in food, drink, FMCG, biotech, or regulated manufacturing
- Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, hygiene, traceability, and quality management systems
- Experience with production documentation, quality checks, non-conformances, and corrective actions
- Internal audit, HACCP, food safety, or root cause analysis training (Desirable)
The Person for the Fermentation Production Operative:
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot quality and process risks quickly
- Confident on the factory floor and comfortable engaging operational teams
- Good data review, investigation, and report-writing skills, with solid MS Office and systems proficiency
- Clear written and verbal communication, able to influence constructively
- Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Full UK Driving License
