Job Summary
We are looking for a Buyer to join Supply Chain team of or world wide recognised client from marine industry and take responsibility for managing several core suppliers within a specialised commodity group aligned to your experience. There are three commodity groups: Engines and Mechanicals, Composites, and Marine Components.
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
The Role
As a Commodity Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring that purchasing activity supports demand and that materials are delivered when required. You will build strong working relationships with suppliers, monitor their performance and support improvements where required.
Main Responsibilities
- Place purchase orders in a timely manner to support demand.
- Ensure materials arrive by the required purchase order date.
- Maintain accurate supplier details within the ERP system.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage improvements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase order delivery dates on SAP.
- Carry out other tasks and duties as required by Senior Management.

The successful candidate will have:
- A good level of education, ideally with a business or procurement focus.
- Competent use of MS Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Competency in one or more of the commodity groups: Engines and Mechanicals, Composites, or Marine Components.
- The ability to read technical drawings and understand technical data.
- Excellent communication and assertiveness skills.
- A professional and entrepreneurial attitude.
- A flexible, reliable and self-motivated approach.
- The ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet multiple project deadlines.
