Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Salary:
£34,000.00 per annum
Main Duties
As a Yard Operative, you'll play an important role in keeping the yard organised, safe, and operating smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Loading and unloading vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift.
- Moving equipment safely around the yard.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and tidy yard environment.
- Cleaning and preparing returned hire equipment using a jet wash, ensuring it is ready for its next hire.
- Carrying out stock checks and helping to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Following all company health and safety procedures.
- Supporting the wider team with general yard duties as required.
Skills and competences
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift licence.
- Previous experience working within a yard, warehouse, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to your work.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to get involved.
- Good level of physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
