HGV Class 1 Driver

Active Staff are currently recruiting for an experienced and dependable Class 1 (HGV1) Driver to join our well-established client based in Newcastle. Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00am – 6:45pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out scheduled collections from regular customers throughout the day
• Transporting freight safely back to the Newcastle depot/warehouse
• Completing daily deliveries, returning stock to customers as required
• Ensuring all loads are secured correctly and transported in line with regulations
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly
• Maintaining accurate delivery paperwork and records
• Providing a professional and courteous service to customers at all times

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 (C+E / HGV1) driving licence
• Minimum 6 months Class 1 driving experience
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph card
• Good understanding of driver hours and road transport regulations
• Strong reliability and punctuality
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous experience in multi-drop or collections work
• Knowledge of the Newcastle and surrounding areas
