About the Opportunity
A well-established precision engineering company supplying high-quality machined components to the Defence, Pharmaceutical, Medical and Aerospace sectors is seeking an additional Quality Inspector to join its growing Inspection Department.
Operating to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards, the company continues to invest in its people, technology and facilities and is looking for an enthusiastic individual to support ongoing business growth. This opportunity would suit an experienced Quality Inspector or someone from a machining or manufacturing background who is keen to develop a career in inspection.
The Role
As part of the Inspection team, you will be responsible for ensuring components and documentation meet customer specifications and quality requirements. You will work closely with production personnel, suppliers and customers to maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Pay Rate
£16.00 to £20 per hour, depending on experience
Working Times
Monday to Friday, 7:30AM to 4:00PM

Key Responsibilities
- Programme and operate Aberlink CMM equipment.
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections of precision machined components.
- Produce inspection reports and customer documentation, including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Use Keyence vision systems, shadowgraph equipment and a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Support and maintain the company's calibration system.
- Verify manufacturing documentation and ensure full internal and external traceability.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and provide guidance where required.
- Work in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality procedures.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding quality-related matters.
- Investigate and report non-conformances and support corrective actions.
- Work closely with the Chief Inspector to ensure inspection activities are completed efficiently and in line with customer delivery requirements.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Completed an engineering apprenticeship or possess equivalent industry experience.
- Previous inspection experience within a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using CMM equipment and other precision measuring instruments.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Good understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes, particularly precision machining.
- Knowledge of associated processes such as fabrication, sheet metalwork, heat treatment and electroplating would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive and organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
